Carry yarn up the side
Переглядів 3,8 тис.7 років тому
Learn this slick technique to carry your yarn invisibly (on the right side) up the edge of your knitted shawls when using a Kf&b (Knit front & back) or KFBF (Knit front back front) increase at the beginning of a right side row. This is demonstrated by Melanie of Azalea HandWoven on her Blue Grotto Shawl, which was designed for Mad Cow Yarn 2017 LYS Tour.
Center Double Decrease
Переглядів 9328 років тому
The Center Double Decrease (CDD), decreases 2 stitches over 3 stitches for a center lined decrease (slanting neither left or right).
Cluster Stitch
Переглядів 1959 років тому
This is a special stitch that I have called a cluster stitch. It will not be the same as a cluster stitch in other patterns. It is used on the Melisendé Shawlette, that was released in May 2015 for the LYS tour.

Extended Single Crochet

This video will show you how to finish off the Extended Double Crochet stitch to close the holes left by that design. You could also use this as an accent on any edge.
Extended Knit Stitch (EXk) & Twist Your Work
Переглядів 4749 років тому
This video demonstrates how to work the extended knit stitch (EXk) in the Calley Shawlette (Lattice Stitch) and the Plumeria Flower. It also shows you how to "twist your work" as used in the Plumeria Flower to create the petals. This technique can also be used to create a scalloped cast on edge to any project.
Foundation DC Cast On
Переглядів 2 тис.9 років тому
Learn how to cast on your crochet project without starting with a chain. This technique is especially useful when long cast ons are required and can also help to keep the edge of your project loose, if you tend to chain tightly. Use this cast on when the first row of your project calls for double crochet stitches.
I Cord Bind Off
Переглядів 1,4 тис.9 років тому
This video demonstrates how to add a knitted I-cord to the finishing edge of your knitting. This adds a nice edge, especially to items you are felting.
3 Needle Bind Off
Переглядів 2949 років тому
This knitted bind off, creates a beautiful seam between two sets of live stitches. It is ideal for shoulder seams or anywhere else, when a quick and easy seam is needed or desired. If you don't have 3 needles of the same size, transfer one set of stitches to a smaller needle and use your second pattern needle for the bind off.
Knitted Cast on - German Twisted
Переглядів 4459 років тому
This cast on is a long-tail cast on variation. It adds an extra twist to the cast on edge, which adds additional stretch to this type of cast on. While it is not ideal for all projects, it works well as a substitute for most standard cast ons, especially if you tend to have a tight cast on.
Foundation SC
Переглядів 4,7 тис.9 років тому
The foundation sc (single crochet) cast on is a wonderful cast on, when you want to ensure a stretchy edge to your crochet project or when you have a large number to cast on. This cast on acts as the initial chain stitch edge and your first row of Sc stitches. Be sure to subtract your turning chain from your count.

This looks really nice. So far I know 2 different heels, but I'd love to try this since it looks so easy. Thank you for the lovely video!🥰 I usually knit my socks 2 at a time on 2 circulars. Would I still have to do them individually or can this method be continuous?

Can’t see the project from the RS. Appreciate the attempt but your camera should be placed behind you so we can see what it looks like from your angle.

I'm confused with my dutch heel. My sock is 64 sts and my flap is 32 sts wide. I could do an increase of 1 st and then I'd have 11st on the left, 11st for the center, and 11 on the right. After this point I'm lost. Can you please help me?

You did tell me one thing I haven’t seen on on the videos I’ve watched. I knit Continental and was wondering if I could leave my pearling yarn on the front side, and you answered that question, no, I have to take it to the back. I would love to find more on casting on Continental, etc. thank you.
